Board Member Profiles – Calendar year 2006

CHAIR-Charles Crisostomo
Chuck has been with the County since December 2001 as the Assistant Director of the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center. He is from the Pacific Island of Guahan (Guam) and has experience as the Director for the Guam Economic Development Authority, Executive Director of the Guam Legislature and as the General Manager of KPRG, an NPR affiliate radio station. Chuck has also served as cultural liaison to the South Pacific Commission, country representative to the United Nations Development Program and as a current member of the Guam Society of America, Washington DC.

VICE CHAIR- Eduardo Mondonedo
Eduardo is a Senior Planning Specialist with the Department of Public Works and Transportation/Division of Operations. He is responsible for providing planning expertise and supervision in the development of parking oriented projects in the Department’s planning and project development efforts. Prior to the planning job, he worked as a the Assistant Director for the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center for 5 years serving as a liaison for the Western Montgomery County Region. Before the liaison position, he worked for the Department of Recreation for 18 years serving as a Recreation Specialist, a Community Center Director and a Recreation Supervisor. He also has served as a representative to Montgomery County’s Wellness Council and the Diversity Council. Ed is a member of the Montgomery County Pilipino American Association, the Metropolitan Association of Local Government Assistants, and National Recreation and Parks Association. He was born of Filipino parents and raised in the Caribbean, Central America, and Asia.

SECRETARY-Tessie Krintz
Tessie has worked in the County government for the past 11 years. Three years of that was full time working for the Finance Department/Payroll Division as an OSC and the rest is part-time (so that I can attend to my growing family) with Recreation Department as Administrative Aide and as an OSC with the Offices of the County Executive. Besides working part time for the County and keeping my family happy, I have volunteered as a conversational English class teacher for the past 3-1/2 years and loving it. Prior to working for the County, I held a position as a Branch Secretary for an Insurance Agency.

TREASURER-Annette Cheng
Annette is the Senior Executive Administrative Aide to the Director of the Homeland Security Department. She helped in establishing the department and has worked to expand Homeland Security to its current level. She is working closely with the County Asian Health Initiative Steering Committee to provide outreach on emergency preparedness to the Asian community in Montgomery County. She was formerly employed with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, providing outreach and safety instructions to the community, including school programs and children with limited English proficiency. Prior to working with the Montgomery County government, Annette has worked with Sandy Spring Bank where she was teller supervisor and customer service representative for 7 years. Annette holds a major degree in Accounting and Finance.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR-Mimi Wang Feinstone
Mimi works for the Montgomery County Park and Planning Commission. For the past 19 years, she has been involved in many diversity-related activities -- serving on the Commission's first Diversity Council, and is currently on the Park and Planning Department's Diversity Leadership Team. She has been an English teacher in Asia, a social worker, and an association representative on Capitol Hill. Mimi's forebears are from both China and Japan, dating back to 1899. Her passion is traveling to distant lands, and she includes Bhutan, the Silk Road and Central Asia on her partial list of places to visit in the future.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR-Laura Chin
Laura is a transit marketing specialist with the Department of Public Works & Transportation. She is a former Executive Director of the National Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA), a past Chair of the Asian Pacific American Federal Employees Council (APAFEC) and is a Board member for Dana Tai Soon Burgess & Co., a Contemporary Asian American Dance Company. Laura has been and remains active with civil rights issues and various community groups.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR-Jayasree (Jai) Kundu
Jai brings 29 years of private sector experience in the County in the areas of governance, federal and state committees, council, training/education, and budget forecast/project/program management. Her position is Program Manager I with DPWT. In the private sector, Jai held positions as Executive Director and Vice President for a national organization. In addition, she served as the staff liaison to three Executive Boards on the National level and managed 12 technical committees and its staff liaisons. She served in numerous roles with Indian associations, raised funds for causes and served as master of ceremonies at various events in the Indian community. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Asian American Health Initiative, DHHS, Montgomery County.
