Welcome to the Asian Pacific American Employees Association (APAEA) web. page. APAEA is a non-profit organization committed to improving the skills and effectiveness of Montgomery County Asian employees through its programs and initiatives. The association provides professional development opportunities, supports Montgomery County’s diversity initiatives and works with the County’s Office of Human Resources to increase employment opportunities and eliminate artificial barriers. In addition, to develop a strong and united group of APAEA, to stimulate and foster the social interest and relationship of its members, to encourage, promote and sponsor social, recreational and educational activities, to foster communication and cooperation between APAEA and other organizations and many more……

History
In the early ‘90s, Asian American employees of Montgomery County founded the Asian Pacific American Employees Association. Since then the organization has held numerous educational and recreational activities. In addition, programs were sponsored for professional development. Since its inception the organization has been growing.
Monthly planning meetings are held by the Board of Directors. As a member you are welcome to participate in these meetings. Call one of the officers to find out when the next meeting is scheduled.

Objectives OF APAEA
- To develop a strong and united group of Asian Pacific American employees within the Montgomery County government.
- To stimulate and foster the social interest and relationships of its Members
- To encourage, promote and sponsor social, recreational and educational activities of, and for, the Members.
- To promote the development, networking opportunities and career advancement of Member employees in the County government workforce.
- To advocate and promote equitable and fair treatment of its members in government departments and agencies, by working to eliminate elements of discrimination, in accordance with federal laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and internal policies.
- To collect, evaluate and disseminate among its Members, statistical and other information of interest to them.
- To assist in identifying issues and coordinating projects that affect Members.
- To foster communication and cooperation between APAEA and other employee associations and organizations.
- To develop and conduct charitable, scientific, educational and other similar programs for the benefit of its Members and the general public.
- To serve as a central point of contact for receiving and disseminating timely information about conferences, training, employee organizations, and other relevant government issues and activities.
- To assure that its Members are provided equal access to the County’s career development system
